My Sister In Law's birthday card.

It was my sister in law's birthday yesterday and she makes really lovely cupcakes for weddings, birthdays and any other celebration you might care to mention. Unfortunately I dont share her culinary skills, but I thought a cup cake themed card might be nice for her. so I made the selection above using the Cute Companions range, and finally decided to give my sister in law the one at the bottom. If she likes the card half as much as I like her cakes then I will have done a good job!!

Something to match the weather

I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but round here it will be sunny one minute and pouring with rain the next! So I thought that for today's post the lovely Lili of the Valley rabbit with umbrella would be quite appropriate! These cards have been coloured in with pro markers but would also work well with water colouring. The stamps themselves are not too big so they will work nicely on a standard A6 card.

Thanks for looking.

Second post of the day! - Flower Fairies

My second post in one day (you can tell I am on holiday at the moment!!) This is from the Flower Fairies of the Garden range. I have printed the background papers from the CD Rom which includes some lovely skeleton leaf backgrounds that remind me of that handmade paper that you can get (only much cheaper!). I stamped the image using a brown Stayzon for a softer look and coloured with watercolour pencils. The edge has been smudged with distress ink and the little dots are also stamped with the distress ink using a dotty stubbie stamp from the Stamps by Juldit range. This is a really useful little stamp for adding a bit of interest to your backgrounds and it only costs a couple of pounds, so a really useful investment I think!

Anyway, I hope you like the card!

Cute Companions - Summer Stories

Morning all. I am a big fan of the Cute Compnions range and have been lucky enough to spend a couple of days with their creator, Jayne Nesorenko, and what a lovely lady she is!

I made this 'scene' card using the Summer Stories CD Rom for the background and the complimentary background stamps which I coloured using water colour pencils. The pictures aren't the best but hopefully you get the idea!!

Thanks for looking.

Happy Little Snowman

Here is a very simple card that I have made using the snowman from the Little Claire's Christmas release. The picture isn't great, but I have added some sparkle to the snowflakes on the background  paper using a Sakura Stardust pen as I wanted something a little more subtle than full on glitter!

I think tomorrow it will be time to move away from Christmas for a while and remember it's summertime again!

More from the Little Claire Christmas Release

Hello all. First of all I just wanted to say thank you to the new followers that have registered on my blog - it makes me really happy to know that someone out there wants to look at my attempts at art!

Anyway, on to today's post. Here is another card created from the lovely new Little Claire's selection. I have used promarkers and just coloured it 'flat' rather than shading so this is a really simple one to do.

Thanks for looking.

Little Claire's latest Christmas stamps

It seems a little odd to have been making Christmas cards already (even for us crafters!) but here is one of the cards that I created ready for the release of the new Little Claire's christmas stamps which are now available to buy on the website. I think this image is cute.....but not too cute and it's really quick and easy to colour in, plus it really suits a monochromatic effect. As you can see on this card, I haven't exactly been too adventurous and have stuck with blue, but you could go with black and white or even shades of pink or lilac for a girl. I think you can't really go wrong with this stamp.

In case you you want to take a look at the range, the web address is http://www.littleclaire.co.uk/.

Thanks for looking.

My New Blog

After months of saying I'll do it, I've finally got round to setting up my own blog!

I am lucky enough to have been selected to be a design team member for the wonderful Little Claire's stamps and I am looking forward to being able to showcase some of the lovely designs here on my blog, along with some of my other attempts at art along the way!

I hope that you will come and visit me from time to time, and your comments would be much appreciated so that I know that I'm not all alone out here!

Thanks for reading!
