Slugs, snails and puppy dog tails......

Do you remember the nursery rhyme about what little girls and boys are made of? Well it was the boys that were made of slugs and snails and puppy dog tails but, for some reason, this Whimsy Stamp image reminded me of the rhyme and I just had to have it. Isn't this the cutest little snail you have ever seen?

For this card I have gone large on an 8 x 8 base and used some of the lovely paper from the Bearly Mine Spring Flight set, which I thought complimented the image perfectly. I have also used a blue paper from the Pain and Simple paper set, to cover the whole of the base card.

As you can see, there is a little bit of distressing going on here too :o)
Finally - a close up of the image where you can hopefully see that I have gone for decoupaging and a little splash of glitter.

I would love to enter the following challenges with this card......

Lilis Little Fairies Purple Yellow Challenge

It's time for a new challenge at Lili's Little Fairies today and this time it's to use purple and yellow.

As you can see it's a colour combi that I really like and I had a lovely time colouring, finding matching papers and also making my flowers using my favourite Britannia Die.

A little trick to share about my flowers - I cut them from cream pearlescent paper and then coloured the plan side with my pro markers. The colour seeps thorough to the pearlescent side so you get the lovely sheen and the colour too - perfect matching flowers every time!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to hop over to Lili's Little Fairies to join in the fun this week.

LOTV girl and dogs 2

Well it's Sunday evening, we have had a day of gorgeous weather and it's a Bank Holiday tomorrow so a bonus day off work. Things are looking really sweet at the moment!

I have made a bit of time for card making this weekend too, but, unfortunately I can't show any of them yet as they are all for upcoming challenges. So I thought now would be a good time to post one of the cards I made a little while back, and here it is.

As you can see, it is very CAS and uses up a just a scrap of paper and a bit of left over ribbon, so no wastage here.

The image is Lili of the Vally and I have coloured her in with pro markers to match my backing paper which is from a NitWits digi kit (which is called Go Nuts - I thikn!)

Not much to say about this card really, so it's on to the challenges of the day I think:

Passion for Promarkers - Anything Goes
Fab n Funky - Ribbons or Lace
I love Promarkers - Anything Goes

One card....and a lot of challenges

I happened to make this card over the weekend, using a Gorjuss Stamp which I had been meaning to have a play with for ages, and some lovely papers which I had previously printed out  from the lovely Bearly Mine Plaid set.

Who knew that one simple card would fit the bill for so many lovely challenges!

I had a lovely card making this card. For once the colouring of the hair went right (more by luck than judgement I think!) and my paper piecing came out just as I had imagined it. I also got the chance to use some lovely punched flowers which i had left over from a previous project so I didn't ave to drag out my Grand Calibur and dies. It just doesn't get any better than that.

Anyway, I hope you like the card and here is the long list of challenges that I would like to enter.......

Fab n Funky - Ribbon or Lace
Whimsy Stamps - Anything Goes
I Love Promarkers - Anything Goes
Passion for Promarkers

Bearly Mine Anything Goes Challenge

It's time for a new challenge over at Bearly Mine today and this week it's everyone's favourite - Anything Goes.

We are sponsored this week by the wonderful Meljens Designs and I have chosen this funky Flower Power Car from her range to play with.

The papers that I have used today are Floral Fantasies for the patterned paper and the distressed paper that you see at the back is from the Plain and Simple range. I have to say that, much as I love all the patterned papers, I have to say that the Plain and Simple is always my go to set as, no matter what other paper I use, there is always a Plain and Simple to complement it.

Also, I have tried something a little different for this card - take a look at the side view......

Just a little idea that I  picked up off of a show on Create and Craft one day!

Well I do hope that you will come and join us at Bearly Mine this week - I  look forward to seeing all your lovely creations.

The end of a busy day.

I've had a busy day today, demonstrating over at Stamp Addicts for their open day. Not only did I get to spend the whole day playing with stamps, embossing powders and glitters, but I also got to speak to some lovely crafty people, so thank you to all  of you who came to chat with me today.

If you would like to see what I  got up to, hop on over to The Purple Zone where Sarah has pated up a couple of pictures.
Now on to my challenge card today, for which I have used a lovely LOTV stamp, coloured with my beloved Promarkers of course.......

The papers are from a Wild Rose Milton pack which I come back to again and again as I just love the colour palette, so, of course, I coloured my image to match the papers. Finally, I finished off with a little bit of doodling with a Promarker fine nib.

Here are the challenges that I would like to enter today:

Make it Monday
Forever friends
My mums craft shop
Passion for Promarkers
Stamp and Doodle
The Paper Shelter

Thank you challenge at Lili's Little Fairies

Time for another challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies and this week it's all about saying thank you.

I thought this LOTV bear would be perfect for the thank you sentiment, especially with tat lovely patchwork flower that he is holding on to.

I picked my papers beforehand first, as per usual and coloured my image to match. As you can see, I also doodled around my papers, trying to do something a bit similar to the stitching around the flower petals.

Finally, I have gone for a bit of a dotty technique on my bear to make him look a bit furry. This was done using darker colours around the edges and a blender pen towards the centre, to create highlights on his protruding bits!

Well thats my DT card for you. I hope you will pop on over to Lili's Little Fairies to see the other fabulous offerings from my team mates, and maybe join in yourself  so we can see your lovely work too.

Here are some other challenges that I would like to enter this card in to today:

The Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
As You Like It - Favourite Colour Combo  Pink and Blue because I love pastel colours

Wings and Things

Today I thought I would show a card using items from two of the companies who I have the pleasure of designing for.

The Stamp that you see is from Stamp Addicts and is actually part of a larger stamp which you can find in the new releases on their website. The stamp itself is really substantial and this is probably less than a quarter of it. It's very stylised as you can see and it lends itself really well to picking out small areas and decoupaging.

Now on to the backing paper, which has come from the Bearly Mine Floral Fantasies set. I have been using this set quite a lot lately as it has  a real variety of styles and a nice range of colours. Some of the papers include the cutest little flying bugs too.

My latest favourite thing is importing the papers in to Serif and sizing them to fit my card, which also shrinks the flowers down too. Not something that I did for this particular card, but I will save that to show you another day :o)

Here are some challenges that I would like to enter today.....

Forever Friends - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp = Things with Wings

Gem ofa Challenge - Things with Wings
Make it Monday

Thanks for visiting.

Fluff and Flowers

Today's post is all about fluffy bunnies and flowers. Can you believe that this lovely stamp was a freebie with a magazine at around about Easter time? The stamp is a really good size and had a lovely girl bunny to go with it. I had to put them to one side to make sure that I used them and they didn't get forgotten about as they were certainly too nice to be left inside their plastic packaging!

For this card I coloured the rabbit with pro markers and, having already got the paper in mind that I wanted to use, I coloured him in to coordinate. The papers are from a Wild Rose Studio Milton pack and I really like them because they have such lovely colours which are a bit different to the usual pinks and purples that I am usually drawn to.

Well that's about all I can say about this little sweetie - it's fairly CAS.......a bit of ribbon here, a smudge of distress ink there, some faux stitching and we are done!

Hope you like it.  :o)

Here are the challenges I would like to enter:

Forever friends monthly - Anything Goes
By the Cute and Girly - Flowers
Crafty Calendar - Blooms and Blossoms
Papertake - Anything Goes
Whimsy Inspires - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a happy week ahead.

Wot no stamping????

Sometimes I just love a bit of decoupage.....especially when it is as cute as the lovely House Mice. I tend not to buy preprinted decoupage as, if I like it, I don't use it as then it will be gone (sad, I know!)...so really that's a waste of money isn't it? However, that problem is quickly solved when you can print stuff off of a CD and suddenly the world is your oyster!

This particular image is from the House Mouse CD and inspiration book from Joanna Sheen. I have to say, the book is a real treat as I could sit looking at it for ages - lol!

As you can see  from the close up below, there must be 6 or 7 layers on this particular image so it takes a little while, but it gets me away from that felling of 'cheating' if I haven't actually stamped and coloured the image my self.......I am The Little Stamper after all!!

As you can see, I have used lots of other textured goodies from my stash which I though fitted the theme - ribbon, lace and buttons, and this turned out to be a really enjoyable project for me. :o)

I would like to enter this card in to a few challenges:

The Ribbon Girl - Use a Button
Forever Friends Monthly - Anything Goes
Papertake - Anything Goes
Sister Act - Anything Goes
Make it Monday

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Don't be such a square!

I have a bit of a habit of, making square cards (especially the 6 x6 variety!) so I thought it was time that I stretched myself to do something a little different. This circle scalloped easel card is the result.

As you can see, I have had quite a bit of my crafty stash out for this card, including my grand nesties, to make the card base, my Britannia dies to make the flowers and leaves, my Bearly Mine digital papers (Spring Flight and Plain and Simple) and some lovely sparkly glitter.
The image that I used is a gorgeous Whimsy Stamps digi and I have coloured it with my spectrum noirs and decoupaged it up for depth. I finished off with a little bit of sparkly glitter for these little fairy bugs. As always with me, I am drawn to the cute little faces on this image......doesn't it just want to make you hug a bug?

I thought that the bearly mine Spring Flight papers went really well with this image and, as you can see, I have tried to colour my leaves to replicate those in the paper. I also used the papers to make my die cut flowers....as there is a colour gradient in the paper you can choose a different shade to get a bit of contrast.

I have to say that this card took a bit of time to make, but I think the end result was worth the effort, and now I can enter it in to lots of lovely challenges:

Sister Act
Papertake - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Come Fly With Me
By the Cute and Girly - May Flowers
Totally Papercraft - Don't be Square
Card Crafters Circle - Buds and Blooms
Anything Goes - Shaped Cards
One Stop Craft - Flower Power

A Fabulous Sketchy Challenge from Bearly Mine

Here I am with my first ever challenge inspiration card for the Bearly Mine Challenge, and this week we have a lovely sketch for you to follow........

Here's my interpretation of the sketch. I thought I would go with something a bit different for this and make a 'Boys' card as I don't really do as many of them as I should!

Our Sponsor this week is Kenny K and the image that I have used is 'Cool Kid', and I have coupled this with 2 papers from the Bearly Mine 'Boyz Zone' collection which you can find here.

For this card I printed the Kenny K image 3 times and then coloured and decoupaged him to give him a bit of a lift from the card.  I wanted to colour him to tone in with the lovely papers and my Spectrum Noirs proved to be perfect for the job.

I hope that you will come and join in the fun at Bearly Mine this weekend and don't forget to have a look at the lovely inspiration posted by my teams which you can find right here.

Happy crafting everyone.

Angelica Lilac fairy

Hello all. Well the weather hasn't turned out to be quite what we had hoped for so far...as I type it is pouring with rain, but we are getting bits of sunshine in between so it's not all bad!

Today I'm showing a lovely Angelica's fairy from Crafters Companion - she's a little sweetie isn't she.

As you can see, I have coloured her in with my Spectrum Noir markers and added a bit of twinkling H2O to make the wings sparkly (unfortunately that doesn't come our so well on the photo).

As for the lovely papers, I am afraid I have no idea what they are. I found them whilst looking through some old boxes and  made sure I used them as soon as possible so they wouldn't get lost again!

So, on to a few challenges I think:
Eclectic Ellapu - Anything Goes
Forever Friends - Use Flowers
Natalie and Amy - things with Wings
