Lili's Little Fairies - 1,2,3 challenge

It's time for another challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies and this time the theme is one image, two papers and three embellishments.

For my card I've chosen one of the beautiful bear images from LOTV and used my alcohol pen 'dotty' technique to give him a furry appearance. I picked my papers first and then coloured the image to match, which I always find easier than doing it the other way around.

Finally, I have opted to use three 'types' of embellishments in the form of ribbon, candy dots and a gorgeous little pearl heart.

I hope that you will all come and join in the fun or, just hop on over to look at all the lovely inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Sketch Saturday challenge - sketch number 239

Sketch Saturday have a challenge this week where you can choose one of your favourite sketches......well choosing just one sketch is hard enough, but in the end I went with this one as I liked the CAS look.

In an effort to make some sort of start on my Christmas stash I decided to grab this lovely Humphreys Corner stamp and print a matching paper from the coordinating CD rom.
I had such a lovely time colouring this little guy in, and the little pile of presents which come as part of the set, make an excellent embellishment I think.

Not much to say about this card as it really is  that simple, but here are a few challenges that I would like to enter:

All of a Flutter

Over at the Flutterby challenge there is a lovely sketch this week, and I had one of those rare moments when i could visualise exactly what I wanted to do with it. I know exactly which stamp I wanted to use and even which paper I wanted, and this is the result.

The stamp is a little cutie from Lily of the Value, which is actually made of 3 small circular stamps with the little bear peaking out.
As you can see I have coloured each one with my alcohol markers and use a nestie to cut a mount for each one, which I then edged with glitter ........(confession time - I wasn't planning to do the glitter bit, but I got a mark on one of the mounts which needed to be 'disguised')

Secondly - the lovely backing paper is from the Bearly Mine Floral Fantasies set and I think it works perfectly with the butterfly theme.

So that's my card for today and here are the challenges that I would like to enter:

Popcorn Birthday Smiles

I really loved the Popcorn range when they came on to the crafty scene, and I lovingly collected every single stamp that came out. Sad to say though, they have sat in my craft cupboard untouched for a long time now. But, since my two great nephews came along, suddenly there was a very good reason to get them out again and this is a card that I made for the oldest's 1st birthday.
The original sets of stamps are pretty huge and, as a result, you can easily  fill up an A5 size cards without adding too much extra.

I had a lovely lime colouring this image in with my alcohol pens and using one of the lovely sentiments which came with the stamp. The lovely backing paper is also from one of my Popcorn CDs and as per usual, I picked the paper and then coloured my image to match it.

Well that's about it for this card except to say that there were some final embellishments added, after this picture was taken, in the form of sticky little chocolate finger prints and a little distressing around the edges from a one year old's new little teeth - lol!!

Here are some lovely challenges that I would like to enter today.....

Flowers Galore at Bearly Mine

It's time for a new challenge at Bearly Mine and this week the theme is Flowers Galore, so of course I just had to grab my Floral Fantasy set of digi papers to play with.

Now on these papers some of the floral designs are actually quite big and I wanted to make them much smaller, so I imported the into my Serif program, resized them to 6 x6 inches and what you see is the result. This was really easy to do so I would thoroughly recommend the investment if you like your digi papers as it open up a whole new world of creativity, and it save of ink because you can print different papers on to one sheet in the size that you want.

As per usual I picked my papers first and then coloured my image to match and this time I chose a cute little digi image for Di's Digi Designs, which I thought continued the floral theme. Did you spot the little hedgehog.........isn't he a cutie?

Finally I have die cut the image with a nestie and layered everything up with a scrap of ribbon as an embellishment.

Well I hope you like my little creation for today, and that you might take a moment ot hop on over to Bearly Mine to see the other lovely designs from my team mates.

Before I go, here are a few other lovely challenges that I would like to enter:

Cookie Love

Well here in the UK it was Father's Day today which means it was time for me to get cracking with three male orientated cards.

The first one was for my husband and I wanted to use this lovely digi set from Bugaboo which I had picked up quite some time ago, in anticipation of this occasion.

You can get the cookie boy on his own, but I opted for the set which included the matching cookie papers too.

I imported everything in to Serif and resized it all to fit a 6 x 6 card and then coloured the little boy with promarkers, adding a little bit of decoupage for the giant cookie and the boy's hair.
The little greeting that came with this set was the perfect finishing touch for this card (especially if you know how much my son likes chocolate chip cookies!)

So that's me done for today as I am hoping to squeeze in a little more crafting time before the weekend finally comes to an end.

In the mean time, here are some challenges that I would like to enter:

Make it Monday.

Lilis Little Fairies - Get Well cards challenge

It's time for a fresh new challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies and this time it's to make a Get well Soon card.
This is the kind of thing that you always need in a hurry, so it's a handy card to have as a fallback in your stash.

For my card I have used one of the stamps from their last release and teamed it up with some lovely papers from my NitWits digital collection.

The die with the get well sentiment is from Crafters Companion and I have finished it off with a scrap of ribbon that I found in my stash. A few punched flowers and job done!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you will join us over at Lili's Little Fairies for this great challenge.

Rockin Robin strikes again.

This morning I found this card in my photos which I made quite a long time ago, using the Rockin Robin stamp from Stamp Addicts...it's quite a strange character don't you think? - but quite comical too and a good one to use for the boys.

For this card I took some plain black card and sprayed it with glitter spray. I wanted to create a glitter ball and a simple die cut from some mirri card seemed just the job for that. Finally, my Robin was coloured with pro markers - no shading - just flat.

I would like to enter the following challenges today:

Crafty Calendar
The Ribbon Girl
Passion for Promarkers
Papertake
Stamp n Doodle
A Creative Romance
The Hobby House

Well I am glad I finally got around to doing a post this weekend. It's a very dull day here where I live so, perhaps I will find some time for a bit more card making later with a bit of luck!

HAve a good weekend all.

Perfect Partners

Today I thought I would show a very simple card that I made using two totally different products which, as it turned out, work perfectly together.

Firstly, the backing pape.r is from Floral Fantasies at Bearly Mine. On this occasion I imported the sheet of paper in to my Serif Craft Artist and resized it to just under 6x6 square.

This is the really great thing about Digi papers as one of my bug bears is that you can buy a gorgeous paper but the pattern is just too big and overwhelming to use on a card. With digi papers you can print in the preset sizes on your computer or, size things precisely using Serif or something similar and all of the patterns are scaled down.....perfection!

Next I delved through my Flower Fairies Garden Fairies CD from Crafters Companion, and came across Candy Tuft who, I thought, would go nicely with my paper. I think shereally looks like she belongs there and she is decoupaged to so, in real life she is lifted from the page.

I hope you like my little offering for today

Bye for now.

Birds of a Feather

I thought I would show a card that I made recently for Stamp Addicts, using one of their new releases which you can get directly from their store or via create and craft.

This is quite a large stamp  - probably about 4 inches across - and my first thought when I saw it was that it would be great for decoupaging.

I chose my papers rom one of the First editions paper pad (Birdsong, funnily enough!) and I stamped the base  directly on to the pink paper and coloured it with pro markers. I then stamped the image on to plain white card to create the decoupage and coloured again with the pro markers before mounting on to my card.
Finally I added a little dash of stickles glitter just for a bit of sparkle.

Here are some challenges that I would like to enter today.......

Crafty Calendar - Things with Wings
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Totally Papercrafts - Anything Goes
Hobby House - Anything Goes
Squirrel And Fox - Summer or Winter
ABC - Open Challenge
Ecclectic Ellapu - Anything with wings
Make it Monday
Sister Act

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your Sunday.

Something a bit manly.....

With Father's Day fast approaching, it's time to turn my attention to 'manly' images once again and this golf caddy from Stamp Addicts is really one of my 'go to' stamps for a men's card.

I know that not everyone likes golf but, if they do, I think this is the perfect happy medium - not too serious, not to cute and fluffy and just a little bit of humour in there......and that's the reason why it comes out of my stamp cupboard again and again.

There is also a golfing man to go with this, but on this occasion I have just gone with the caddy because to me, he looks like a golfer who is having an 'off' day (which happens quite often - so I've heard!)

I have made a very simple easel card and used up a few scraps of paper that were lurking in my stash.

No fussy embellishments on this card - oh no - this card is 'Manly' don't forget!!

So - time for a few challenges I think and here they are:
Cupcake Crafts - Boys
Creative Inspirations - Anything Goes
The Paper Shelter - Easel Card
Totally Papercrafts - Anything Goes
Sister Act - Anything Goes
Make it Monday
A Gem of a Challenge - Summertime
Crafty Friends - Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by today.
