Sketch Challenge at Bearly Mine

It's time for a new challenge at Bearly Mine and this time it's a sketch to follow.

For this card I have chosen the Vintage Fantasy papers from Bearly Mine and teamed them up with a sweet little digi from Tiddly Inks.

I also had a bit of fun with my die cutting machine, making the fence, leaves and flower and not forgetting the circular matting a layering.

Finally - since there were fairy wings involved, I could resist a bit of glittering too!

Don't forget to hop over to Bearly Mine to check out the other gorgeous designs by my team mates and hopefully join in with the fun.

Thanks for stopping by.

DSB - Boy with books

Last Friday was a big day for my son as it was his very last day at Primary School. I have to say that the final year has been a whirlwind, what with SATs, residential trips and a massive and of school production but the final day ended up being a real tear jerker as we sat in the leavers assembly whilst the whole year sang True Colours by Cyndi Lauper and memories of the kids favourite times at the school. It is very strange to think that a place I have visited daily for the last seven years will now no longer be a part of mine or my son's lives.

That said, the day ended full of smiles with the children leaving from the main entrants, woth the teachers doing a guard of honour for them, followed by a pool party on what had to be one of the hottest days of the year.

Of course there were a few cards to be made for the occasion, so I got busy with my serif and my Niwits Live and Learn papers, coupled with some Digistamp Boutique images........the ultimate combination for teacher cards!

Here are two of the cards that I made, and a picture of the insert too, which I hoped would make a nice keepsake for the teachers concerned.

So - out with the old and a new door opens as my sons moves in to Secondary School in September......something tells me I'm not going to have my little boy for too much longer!

Here are some lovely challenges that I would like to enter today.

Monochormatic at Lili's Little Fairies

It's time for a new challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies and this time the theme is Monochrome.

Hmmm - this can be a difficult one, but I was saved by my Frederica CD from Polkadoodles which contains a variety of gorgeous papers in soft browns. Having made that decision I really had to go with an animal stamp and this one seemed perfect as it meant I could colour a delicious chocolate cake!
I coloured both characters with a variety of browns from my promarkers set, ranging from Almond and ivory right through to a touch of walnut.

I love putting the papers together - it is such a dream when you know that the colours will match and you can just concentrate on the colours - that's one of the things I really love about the Polka Doodles range.

Well that's my DT entry for this week. I hope that you remember to check out the full challenge post as there are some really beautiful creations by my team mates to look forward to.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Stamps by Judith Summer Dorky Bird

Hi all. I thought I would post up the attached card today as it's been ages since I did anything with my lovely Stamps by Judith stamp and this card happens to be one of the techniques I will be teaching at my classes at Stamperama on August 11th.

This lovely stamp is called Dorky Bird and she / he comes as an undressed bird who you can leave as it is or dress up with the sweet accessory stamps.

I think it's really a fun thing to do and you end up with quite a comical image without it being too cute.
For this card I stamped the bird on to a piece of card and coloured with promarkers. I then stamped the shoes, hat and bag on a separate piece of card and cut them out, and stuck them on to the bird......simple!

Did you spot the cute little bees? They are stubby stamps which are just perfect for adding a bit of interest to your backgrounds. I've also added a bit od sponging and some doodling for good measure.

Finally I created my own background papers, once again using some sticks and stubbies and a bit of sponging. Hope you like it!

Here are some challenges that I would like to enter:

Saying it with Flowers

Well I have been quite busy with card making lately but not so good with the blogging....I guess there aren't enough hours in the day to do both - lol!

But here I am with a quick post using a combination of a Little Claire Lili Stamp teamed up with some paper from the Bearly Mine Floral fantasies set.

As you can see, I have kept it very simple, and used Serif to size the backing paper so that the gflowers in the background are quite dinky. Not my usual colour combination either but I quite like how it has come out, so you may be seeing these colours again!

Here are some challenges that I would like to enter:

Pastel Pretties at Bearly Mine

Time for another challenge over at Bearly Mine and this time it's to use pastel blue, pink and yellow in your design.

So here's my offering for the challenge, using a beautiful paper from the patchwork collection which happened to have exactly the right colours  :o)

I also wanted to make some coordinating flowers for this card and the Plain and Simple digi set provided the perfect shades for the job.

As you can see, I got a bit die cut happy for this card, and everything you can see, including the base card, has been made using a die of one description or another.

And lets not forget about the image - a little cutie from the Rosie collection over at Digi Stamp Boutique.

Get ready for her close up!..........

Finally, I could let all this girly pastel prettiness pass me by with out liberal dose of glitter......aaahhh how satisfying!

Well that's all from me today. I hope you will hop on over to Bearly Mine to see all the other lovely art work and I hope you will join in with our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Square eyed boys!

I made this card for my son's friend as it really reminds me of boys of around 11ish (and forever after I think!) they become obsessed this computer game or that computer game.....they live to play on it and talk about it CONSTANTLY.....what level they're on, what secret tricks they have......you would think their life depended on it.

OMG - it drives me barmy but it's a fact of life these days - the technology is here to stay and the computer games will just keep on coming!

So I thought this would be a very appropriate card, using a sweet little LOTV stamp featuring a boy who looks just about the right age....although my son tells me that the buttons on the controller aren't quite right (see what I mean?.......obsessed!!!)

I have delved in to my Bearly Mine digi papers again for this card, using the Boyz Zone set and importing them in to Serif to make them the right size and shape. Now I would't be without my Serif now, but I am not all that adventurous so I am patting myself on the back that I custom made the greeting stopper. Also the background paper tat you see is not matted and layered - I did it all on the PC so it is one flat sheet. I could play around with that program all night!

So I would like to enter a few challenges with this card, and here they are:

Happy Birthday at Lili's Little Fairies

It's time for another challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies and since it is the blog leader's birthday this month (happy birthday Squirrel!) the theme of birthdays has been chosen. The challenge is to make a birthday card, and include a birthday sentiment.

Here's my offering using this cute little pair from one of the latest LOTV releases. I have paired them up with some cute docrafts papers and a cute little circular sentiment (which isn't actually LOTV but they do offer very similar circular sentiments.

As per usual I have coloured my main image using promarkers and I have added a little glitter for some sparkly icing.

Thanks for stopping by today and I do hope you will come over and join us at Lili's Little Fairies.

What a scorcher!

It's not very often that we get to use the phrase 'what a scorcher' here in the UK but today is certainly one of those days. Thank goodness it's the weekend and we can enjoy it. Sad person that I am, I have been revelling in putting my washing out on the line and it actually drying.......usually it is still kind of damp at the end of the day and it has to go in the tumble dryer anyway! Apparently we are due another great day tomorrow - fantastic.....the weekend is so much nicer when we have a bit of sunshine :o)

On to my card for today which is made using a fantastic and very large stamp from Stamp Addicts. I was just thinking that, with the right colour choices you could even use his for a Christmas card as it has that whole 'partridge in a pear tree' thing going on.....with a little bit of poetic licence of course.
Anyway - for me I have gone with a pink and green theme this time round and used some lovely paper from my first edition birdsong pad as the backing paper. I've coloured the image very simply with promarkers and added some glitter for a a bit of sparkle.

Right - no more dallying around for me, here are the challenges I would like to enter before I go and hang some more washing on the line:

SWALK meets Patchwork Party

My post for today is made using one of my favourite stamp ranges - SWALK, along side the beautiful Patchwork Party papers from Bearly Mine. As you can see, I have chosen a bright a summery yellow  paper for this particular card, but there are also some lovely soft pastel shades within the set so there is really something to suit everyone.

For this card I had bit of a die cutting mega session once again as the base card, the mount, the flowers and the banners are all from a selection of my lovely dies.
The cheerful little children are coloured with my pro markers and I had added some pearl paint for that little bit of sparkle. I also did the same around the edge of my base card which gives the same effect as sticking on little pearl embellishments but at a much cheaper price!

I would like to enter a few challenges with this card today, so here they are.....

BM challenge 93-anything goes.

It's the every popular 'Anything Goes' challenge over at Bearly Mine this week and for my DT inspiration I have decided to get out my lovely Floral Fantasy papers once again and this time I have teamed it with this gorgeous digital stamp from Di's digital delights.

I made the card from scratch using one of my Grand Nesties and I printed the digi stamp 3 times so that I could decoupage her up a bit, which you can hopefully see in the picture below.

Finally, I have added some faux stitching and cut out some floral fantasy flowers from another sheet of paper, to add as embellishments.

And there you have my finished card!

Thanks for stopping by today and please take a moment to visit the Bearly Mine website to see the other gorgeous creations from my lovely team mates.
