Bebunni…. a little bit of creature cuteness

I have been trying to catch some of the Bebunni Christmas episodes on TV this week and I have to admit I have built up a really soft spot for this little character, so guess what is on it's way to me in the post?  :-)

In the meantime, here's a card that I made form the original Bebunni release and some of the gorgeous Desihn Paper from the accompanying CD.
Everything about this card is Crafters Companion as I coloured the rabbit with my Spectrum Noirs and even the matting card is Coredinations.

Anyway, it's a very simple card, to make the most of the cute little image and the lovely paper.

Hope you like it.

In the meantime, here are some challenges that I would like to enter.

Makey Bakey Mice and a bit of Flower Power

Well what a lovely sunny weekend we have been blessed with - makes me feel like summer is really here!

I have been a busy bee today, washing everything I can get my hands on and getting it on the line to dry, and cleaning up around the house.

Now it's time to sit down with a cuppa and treat myself to a little blog time before a little wander round the lake in the evening sunshine I think…….bliss!!

Today I'm showing a card that I made a while back for my mother in law but, I never posted this one to date as it didn't have any actual stamping in it.

This card has been made using the Makey Bakey Mice CD and I picked a lovely little image from the decoupage section to play with, plus some lovely DPs from the same CD.

I used my grand nests to die cut the card shape (sadly a little to big to go in a 6x6 envelope, so I didn't think that one through properly!), and as you can se, I have thrown a bit of everything at this card……doily, lace, ribbon die cuts and pearls. So really, when you think about it, this card was probably just as much work as colouring a card in anyway!

This ended up being quite a busy card for me, embellishment wise, but sometimes it's just really nice to get all your stuff out and make something a bit special don't you think?

So of course, I would like to enter a few challenges today, and here they are:

My new thing

I have wanted to learn to crochet for years now, and those of you who follow my blog may have seen the crochet chicks that I made for Easter, which were my first ever attempt at crochet.

Well, this is my second attempt. I found a very talented lady, called Shorn Ojala on You Tube, who designs her own Amigurumi animals. She then makes a video showing you how to do them and you can also get the written pattern from her blog for free!

So I decided to move on from the chick and try something with limbs instead and this is the result.
Now I have to admit that his face is a little bit creepy - I think it is mostly down to these eyes. I think I will go for plain black ones next time and maybe a little bit of felt for the nose.
I don't think that this one is good enough to give to anyone, but we can definitely call it a work in progress. I am on to my second bunny now as my sister asked for one….hope it's face comes out a bit more friendly looking!

Thanks for looking and here is a link to Sharon Ojala's blog in case you wanted to take a look……

Flowers and Furry Friends

Well, after another hectic week we have made it to the weekend at last. Here in my part of the UK we have had some lovely weather this week…..seems like the beginning of summer - long may it continue. The sunny weather changes my crafting too and it makes me want to use brighter colours and the extra light makes it easier to do a bit more 'fiddly' stuff on my cards. So here is my latest card using a gorgeous Sherri Baldy image and lovely backing papers from NitWits.

This is an 8 x8 inch card which has been entirely put together with paper embellishments from the Nit Wits set. Oh - apart from the picket fence which is a LaLa land die. I originally cut it from white paper but thought it was a bit stark, so I dulled it down a bit with some pan pastels.
As you can see, my image has been coloured with alcohol pens (Spectrum Noir this time) and I decoupaged her and the fluffy little dog in three layers for a bit of depth. I also had a go at doing a bit of faded background behind her……a little more work required on that one I think!

Well I hope you like my scribblings this week……I certainly enjoyed creating it!

All about the golf….

Time to post another men's card today and this time we move from Fishing to Golf. Golf is quite a big thing in my family as both my parents are regular golfers and also my son dabbles from time to time, so any golf related stamp or image is a bit of a must have for me.

This one was from a Do Crafts clear stamp set and the man and the gold bag are actually separate stamps which means you can position them however you want to.
For this card I have gone with simplicity once again by simply stamping, colouring and mounting. I have distressed the edges which is making the weather look kind of stormy……pretty typical for round here though!

Spots and Stripes at Crafty Little Fairies

It's time for a new monthly challenge over at Crafty Little Fairies and this month the theme is Spots and Stripes.

So here's what I came up with for the challenge. I ticked the spots and stripes box by digging out some old papers out of my stash and went with a gorgeous James the Bear image from Lili of the Valley which I have coloured in with my pro markers, finishing of with a generous stippling of blender pen to make him lok a little bit more furry!
My flowers were made using dies from La La Land which I cut from white pearlescent paper. I then coloured them on the back with my pro markers as the ink then bleeds through and leaves a smooth colour on the front of the flowers. If you colour the front of pearl papers, although it will dry, I have found it does pool a little bit first so you don't get such an even finish.

I have finished off each flower with a little cream pearl before attaching around the gorgeous spellbinders over frame.

So that's my card for the challenge.

I hope you will pop over to Crafty Little Fairies to see all the other gorgeous cards on display, and perhaps be inspired to join in as well.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Other challenges I would like to enter are:

Whatever Floats your Boat….

I can honestly say I have never really 'got' fishing. we see a lot of people pursuing this hobby at the lake near where I live and I can't understand what is so fun about lugging tonne of stuff and sitting in the cold and rain all day, waiting for a fish to bite……so you can throw it back in the water!

Still - each to his own I guess - I am sure that crafting is not everyone's cup of tea either!

That said, thanks goodness for fishing is a way, because it makes a great subject for the ever troublesome 'manly' card.

Here's a really CAS card that I made using a Do Crafts stamp and a bit of distressing.
This guy does look pretty happy, so I am guessing it must be a sunny day!

There are a few manly challenges out there so here are a few that I am going to enter:
